    New Wimbledon Theatre gets the Midas Touch

    Merton Council unveiled today (31 August) a fully renovated New Wimbledon Theatre, completing a two-month programme of works on the century-old theatre's facade.

    The crowning glory of the 177,000 plus refurbishment is the statue of Laetitia, the Roman goddess of gaiety who stands 100 feet up over Wimbledon. Fully clothed in radiant gold leaf, she holds a laurel crown - a symbol of celebration.

    Parking Professionals announces today that it has been awarded the management contract to operate the Wimbledon Bridge House car park, SW19, or the "Fridge on the Bridge" as it is known locally!. Parking Professionals has been awarded a 5 year management agreement and is working closely with the owners AW Europe to carry out a thorough refurbishment of the car park in order to bring it up to Parking Professionals standards. Parking Professionals will offer a range of added-value services including breathalyser, buggy loan, full car wash and valeting services.

    Successful marathon raises money for Polka's Arts Access Programme

    Polka's Artistic Director, Jonathan Lloyd, took to the streets of Brighton on Sunday 18 April to run the marathon and raise money for Polka's Arts Access programme. Joining the 7,589 other hopeful runners, Jon managed to complete the 26-mile run in an amazing finishing time of 3 hours 56 minutes and 22 seconds.

    Polka's Visiting Adventures selling out fast!

    Polka Theatre is delighting audiences this season with the selection of shows visiting their Adventure Theatre.

    Right through until the end of June, touring companies are coming to Polka in order to entertain and delight. The programme this season has been diverse and varied with adaptations from Hans Christian Andersen's legendary tales, magical stories that fuse dance and theatre, and interactive journeys that will amaze little ones.
