Since the launch of the Going for Gold campaign, we have gathered and garnered a great deal of support and interest from our Wimbledon businesses, but we need this to keep moving, keep growing. Remember why you chose to locate your business here? Was it the great transport links? The retail choice? The evening economy? The lifestyle of the residents? Whatever your reasons, we need to make sure that Wimbledon continues to provide the best in all these things.
Transport Links - We're already better connected than any other local town, but we can do better with the development of the Station, cleaner streets and more green spaces.
Retail Choice - We already have a fantastic range of retail outlets, but with spaces now available and the new retail units that recent developments have brought, we have the opportunity to attract the very best of retail chains and independents, and expand the diversity of choice to our visitors.
Evening Economy - Wimbledon has a thriving evening economy with a broad range of cuisines from around the world, as well as nightclubs, bars, pubs, live music and comedy venues and our very own theatre. We can make it better for our night time visitors by lobbying for later and cheaper parking, cleaner and safer streets. Going for Gold will actively encourage and support our local businesses to work together through customer focussed joint promotions.
Residents - We're Going For Gold for residents as well as businesses. We place great importance on the feedback of our residents and engage their support wherever we can through our participation and links with residents' associations and the Wimbledon Civic Forum. We never forget that our residents are also our best customers, day and night, and know the town better than anyone.
There is much to be done to make Wimbledon a destination of choice and put us on the map by 2012 - making people want to work, live, shop or visit our great town.
